Before stepping inside, the customer looks. What they see must stop them, intrigue them, draw them in. An effective window display is not simply a product showcase, it is a coherent extension of the store, the brand and the collection.
VANDA designs window displays in direct connection with the retail space: every element, composition, materials, lighting, colour palette, speaks to the store interior and elevates the product with visual force and brand consistency.
We work for international brands including Nike, Zara, AW Lab, Cisalfa, Bally and Hermès. Every project is built to measure, with the same care we bring to full store design.
A window display does not communicate a product. It communicates a world. The passerby who stops in front of one of our windows is not looking at a jacket or a pair of shoes, they are coming into contact with a universe of values, a precise aesthetic, a promise of experience.
This is our approach: brand first, then composition. Story first, then scenography. Every window display we design begins with an analysis of the brand’s DNA, the season’s collection, and the architectural context of the space. Only then do we begin to build.
Every window display project begins with three precise questions.
What is the season’s message? A summer collection has a different register from a winter one. A launch campaign requires a different approach from an institutional window. The seasonal message determines the creative direction of the entire project.
What is the brand’s identity at this moment? Hermès speaks of absolute craftsmanship and refinement. Nike speaks of performance and urban culture. Zara Home speaks of Mediterranean lifestyle. AW Lab speaks of sneaker culture and the street. Every brand has its own language, and the window must speak it with precision.
What is the spatial context? A window in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele has different dynamics from one on a neighbourhood high street. The size of the opening, natural lighting, pedestrian flow, everything influences the design solution.
From these three questions comes the concept, then the composition, then the choice of materials and scenic elements, then the executive project that we deliver to production.
For Nike we designed windows and sets for launch campaigns at La Rinascente in Milan, translating the energy of the sports collections into scenic installations that stopped passersby in the heart of the city.
For Zara Home we developed seasonal concepts that translated the collection’s lifestyle into precise atmospheres, with natural materials, strong colour palettes and compositions that evoked inhabitable worlds.
For Hermès we worked with absolute refinement: windows that communicate luxury without shouting it, where every element has a specific weight and a precise reason to exist.
For AW Lab we built windows that speak the language of sneaker culture, with references to urban culture, street art and the energy of product launches.
For Cisalfa we developed scalable solutions across multiple locations, maintaining brand coherence across different formats and sites.
For Pocca in Burgos we brought the same design rigour to a Spanish context, adapting the visual language to local sensibility without losing the communicative force of the brand.
Window display can be a seasonal solution that changes every two to three months, or a more durable installation that defines the identity of the point of sale over a longer period.
Seasonal windows follow the calendar of collections and campaigns. They require fast execution, materials that can be produced and installed within tight timescales, and solutions that have immediate impact. We work with brand marketing teams to ensure the window is perfectly aligned with the current campaign’s communication.
More permanent installations allow for greater design depth. We can work with more elaborate materials, more complex structures and custom elements that become iconic features of the point of sale.
A window display project does not end with the rendering. VANDA follows the entire process, from design to the production of scenic elements, through to final installation.
We coordinate material suppliers, production companies and installation teams. We guarantee that what has been designed is executed with the quality and precision the brand expects. The executive phase is an integral part of our service, not a phase delegated to others.
How far in advance should a window display project be commissioned? For standard seasonal windows we recommend a minimum lead time of six to eight weeks. For more complex installations or major launch campaigns, the ideal is to start three to four months in advance to allow sufficient time for design, production of custom elements and installation planning.
Do you work only with large brands or also with independent retailers? We work with brands of all sizes. The approach does not change: every window deserves the same design care, regardless of the size of the brand or the point of sale.
Do you handle only the design or also production and installation? We follow the entire process from design to execution. We coordinate production and installation through our network of trusted partners, guaranteeing quality and respect for timelines.
Do you operate only in Italy or also abroad? We operate in Italy and Spain, with selected projects in other European countries. Our offices in Piacenza and Burgos allow us to follow projects both in Italy and Spain with the same quality of presence and control.
