ANETHO | Bar Design
Anetho, the bar born from Thomas and Nevena’s dream
When Thomas and Nevena first came to the studio to talk about their project, they were looking for a warm and welcoming place, able to surprise without being loud. That is how Anetho was born, a modern bistro with a discreet oriental nuance, designed for the centre of Castel San Giovanni.
The rust-coloured ceiling at the heart of the project
The boldest choice of the whole project is the rust-coloured ceiling, a warm tone that visually lowers the space and creates an intimate atmosphere from the very first glance. Around this colour we built the rest of the venue: the bar counter clad in terracotta tiles with recessed lighting, the arches that punctuate the interior, and the light wood furniture.
Warm materials and tailored details
Large windows facing the street let the warm light of the venue show through even from outside, while indoors plants, a round mirror and arched niches animate the space between the bar area and the dining room. The result is a warm, welcoming space designed to make people want to stay.
A space built around one bold choice
Anchoring an entire interior around a single strong colour, the rust-toned ceiling, is a deliberate risk: it forces every other material and finish to respond to it. The terracotta counter, the light wood furniture and the arched niches were all selected to sit comfortably within that warm palette, creating a sense of unity that carries through the whole venue.
A name and a mood
Anetho was conceived as a bistro that surprises through restraint rather than spectacle. The oriental nuance running through the space, from the arches to the choice of materials, stays discreet enough to let the rust-toned ceiling remain the true protagonist of the room.
