Cannoncino | Pastry Shop Design | Piacenza
CANNONCINO | PIACENZA, CORSO VITTORIO EMANUELE
Naming · Branding · Interior design · Construction management · 80 sqm
Paola came to our studio on a warm late-spring afternoon and told us she wanted to open a pastry shop in Piacenza, a real challenging market for an outsider, and that her research had led her to us. She didn’t yet know where she would open it, or what she would call it. She only knew she wanted to make cannoncini to take away, and that she wanted to entrust us with the name, branding, visual identity, and the architectural and interior design project. A complete project — exactly what we love most.
The concept
The name came naturally: the simplest solution is often the most fitting. For the concept we drew inspiration from the organic architecture of Rudolf Steiner’s Goetheanum in Dornach: soft lines and asymmetric curves in every direction, all edges rounded, everything finished in custard cream from floor to ceiling, lit with glass and brass fixtures.
The experience
Imagine stepping inside a freshly baked cannoncino. The sounds soften in the warmth of the pastry cream, you sink into the curves of sweetness, you breathe in the scent of butter and icing sugar. Welcome to Pasticceria Cannoncino: our latest, roundest creation.
Branding and naming
VANDA managed the entire process from naming to visual identity, from logo design to permits, through to art direction and construction management. A total concept that is born coherent and stays coherent down to the last detail.
