Maison Cuarantaycuatro in Burgos: Where Heritage Meets the Contemporary
For Maison Cuarantaycuatro we transformed a historic space into a contemporary boutique that keeps the building’s architectural memory alive. The purple facade immediately defines the brand’s identity within the urban context, becoming a visual landmark that draws people in and sparks curiosity.
Architecture as Narrative
Developing the store across two levels allowed us to create a vertical journey of discovery. The mezzanine, framed by a balustrade with a distinctive geometric design, becomes both an architectural and decorative element, while the circular shapes of the railing guide the eye through the space.
The building’s original columns were preserved and enhanced, becoming structural elements that engage in dialogue with the contemporary design. This interplay between historic features and modern interventions defines the store’s unique character.
A Path That Invites Exploration
The layout naturally invites exploration. From the open and welcoming ground floor, customers move up to the level above, where the atmosphere becomes more intimate. Every corner offers a different perspective on the collection, while plants placed along the way add life and freshness to the space.
The Product as the True Protagonist
At Maison Cuarantaycuatro too, we chose to place the product at the centre, making it the true protagonist of the space. Every element of retail design was conceived to enhance colours, fabrics and volumes, guiding customers through a sensory journey that reflects the brand’s style and identity.
Maison Cuarantaycuatro is a mature and balanced project, able to engage with discretion and depth. A space that speaks with quiet elegance, in tune with the spirit of the times and with the authentic charm of the city that hosts it, Burgos.
