Residential interior design in Como: a complete renovation across three levels. S entrusted us with his section of a semi-detached villa near the lake, where the interiors still reflected their original late-1980s layout and finishes. Two hundred square metres to rethink from scratch.

Residential interior design: the project

We always begin with the person. Their habits, their expectations, their sense of how a home should feel, all of this shapes the way we work. Here the brief was clear: a contemporary space with a strong, masculine identity, capable of working across three distinct levels while maintaining precise visual coherence. We redesigned the entire layout, bringing the same attention to detail to every room.

The wooden cube

The central element of the project is a large wooden cube in the living area. A monolithic volume that conceals multiple functions, kitchen wall, hallway entrance, bathroom access, TV wall, organising the space discreetly while adding genuine architectural character. It is the kind of solution that works precisely because it does not announce itself: the cube resolves everything without declaring it.

The kitchen and the materials

The heart of the project is the bespoke kitchen, designed around a central cooking island clad in black marble. For this project we set aside our usual vibrant palettes in favour of a more muted, masculine and impactful register. Black marble, dark wood, matt surfaces, a precise choice that responds to the client’s personality and produces a visual strength that is rare in residential design.

Three levels, one story

The renovation involved all three levels of the villa, each with its own function and character. Construction management ensured coherence throughout: from demolition to the installation of every bespoke element. The result is a space that feels its history without being defined by it: contemporary, personal, and entirely its own.
